Caroline Sheen

West End Actress and Singer

Caroline Sheen is a Welsh actress and singer, born on 7 January 1976 in Caerleon, South Wales, where she was Head Girl of Caerleon Comprehensive School. She trained with the National Youth Theatre of Wales and the Gwent Young People's Theatre before graduating with First Class Honours from the Guildford School of Acting.

She has built a long career as a leading lady on the London West End stage, playing Truly Scrumptious in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Sandy in Grease, Eponine in Les Miserables, and the original Jennifer in The Witches of Eastwick. She was also an original cast member of Mamma Mia! at the Prince Edward Theatre, and won a Helen Hayes Award for playing the title role in the US national tour of Mary Poppins.

Caroline Sheen is widely reported, including by fans of the site, to be a cousin of fellow Welsh actor Michael Sheen; the two share South Wales roots, though this family connection has not been independently documented beyond such reports. She has also returned to her home region to support young Welsh performers, visiting the WAWWA Musical Youth Theatre group as a patron for a workshop when they staged Les Miserables (school edition).

I have known Caroline since she was a school girl and a very good friend of my son Jay. Caroline whom I believe to be amongst the great talents of our time is indeed truly scrumptious. Both she and my son continue to be close friends and keep in touch on a regular basis.
