Tim Wylton

Tim Wylton, born Timothy Higginson on 27 February 1940 in Bangor-on-Dee (Bangor-is-y-coed), Wrexham, Wales, is a British character actor with a long and versatile career across stage and television. He trained at RADA and appeared in Franco Zeffirelli's celebrated 1961 Old Vic production of Romeo and Juliet before becoming a mainstay of the Royal Shakespeare Company between 1963 and 1977.

He is best known to television audiences as Stanley Dawkins in the sitcom My Hero (2000-2006) and as Lol Ferris in As Time Goes By (1996-2002), and earlier played Eric in The Dustbinmen (1969-1970). His many other credits include The Liver Birds, The Sweeney, Juliet Bravo, Bergerac, Rumpole of the Bailey, A Touch of Frost, Poirot, Cadfael, Casualty, Heartbeat and Midsomer Murders, as well as the role of Fluellen in the BBC's 1979 adaptation of Henry V and Mr Gardiner in the 1995 BBC Pride and Prejudice. He is the father of actor Huw Higginson.

Tim Wylton was a mainstay of the Royal Shakespeare Company between 1963 and 1977, having earlier appeared in Franco Zeffirelli's celebrated 1961 Old Vic staging of Romeo and Juliet.
