Gary Turner is an English actor, born in 1968 in Chester, Cheshire, who was raised in both Chester and north Wales. He trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), graduating in 1991.
Turner is best known for playing Carlos Diaz in the ITV soap opera 'Emmerdale', a role he held from March 2000 to December 2001, returning briefly in May 2004. His other television credits include 'The Bill', 'Soldier Soldier', 'Families', 'Casualty', 'Hollyoaks: Let Loose' and 'Autopsy'.
On stage, his roles have ranged from Macbeth to Captain Hook, and he also appeared in a production of the 'Bodyguard' musical as Sy Spector. He is one of the founding members of The Spontaneity Shop, an improvisation theatre company.
Turner's connection with Wales comes from his upbringing in the north of the country; local record has long associated him with Rhyl High School.
