Much loved writer of children's books. Roald Dahl also wrote for other genres too. These include the Bond movie 'You Only Live Twice' as well as numerous film conversions of his children's books and 'Tales of Mystery and Imagination' which ran on British TV for years.

Connection: Of Norwegian descent. He was raised in Cardiff and lived there most of his life.

I attended Howell's School Llandaff in the 1970's and it was said that Dahl and his parents lived either in one of the houses used to accommodate the boarding pupils or next door.
