Frank Hope-Jones
Developed the 'Synchronome' electric clock system. He devised the 'pip' time signal first broadcast by the BBC and later by most of the world's major broadcasting organisations.Connection: Born Eastham, on the Wirral, 1867 but both his father and grand father were born in Ruthin.

He was also involved with the early developments of radio broadcasting and a founder member of the 'Radio Society of Great Britain'.
