Denys Graham

Denys Graham (1926'2024) was a Welsh actor with a career spanning more than seventy years, best remembered for his roles in three classic British films: 'The Dam Busters' (1955), in which he played Flying Officer L. G. Knight DSO; 'Dunkirk' (1958), as Private Fraser; and 'Zulu' (1964), as Private 716 Robert Jones.

Born in Newport, Monmouthshire, Graham was educated at New College, Oxford, and trained as an actor at RADA. He also had a long-running television role as Percy Hoskins in 'Rumpole of the Bailey', and remained a working actor into his later decades. He died on the 24th of October, 2024, at the age of 98.

An accomplished pianist as well as an actor, Graham trained at RADA after his education at New College, Oxford. Alongside his celebrated war-film roles, he became a familiar face on British television, most notably as Percy Hoskins in 'Rumpole of the Bailey', and continued to take on acting work well into his nineties.
