Llyr Evans, also known by the Welsh spelling Llŷr Ifans, is a Welsh actor born in 1968 in Ruthin, Denbighshire, North Wales. He is the younger brother of actor Rhys Ifans, and the two grew up together in Ruthin before both pursuing careers in film and theatre.
Evans is best known for starring opposite his real-life brother in the cult Welsh film Twin Town (1997). He went on to appear in Very Annie Mary (2001), the Welsh-language crime drama Yr Heliwr (A Mind to Kill), and the 2013 film Y Syrcas. In 2015 he took the role of Nogood Boyo in the S4C television adaptation of Under Milk Wood.
A fluent Welsh speaker, Evans has also worked extensively on stage, including a 2007 production of A Toy Epic at Clwyd Theatr Cymru in Mold, which toured venues across Wales. He is married to BBC Radio Cymru presenter Lisa Gwilym, and the couple live in Y Felinheli, Gwynedd.
His Ruthin roots and family connection to Rhys Ifans are well documented and have long been a point of local pride, as reflected in comments left by visitors to this site over the years.
