His many Eisteddfod victories.

Connection: Otherwise known as Dafydd o'r Llwyn - the "Rhondda Bard". David was born in Dowlais in 1847, went on to become a well known bard in the Rhondda. He also lived in the USA for many years but returned to Wales to die in 1917.
