Elizabeth Vaughan

A very successful career in opera. In Covent Garden, Milan, Metropolitan in New York and many others. In 1990 she received an honorary doctorate from the University of Wales awarded by the Prince of Wales.

Connection: Born in Llanfyllin, North Wales, 1937 (we were schoolmates). Her stage name is Elizabeth Vaughan. She is a very good opera singer.

Was the first opera singer I ever saw as a young lad and had me in floods, well I was 11yrs. In my mind one of the best "butterfly" I've seen, and many in the who agree.
