David Hughes starred with Sally Ann Howes and Laurence Naismith in 'Summer Song', a musical play about the life of Antonin Dvorak, Czech composer during his visit to North America and writing 'The New World Symphony'. I believe the music was adapted from Dvorak by Robert Wright and George Forrest (also responsible for 'Kismet' (from Borodin and 'Song of Norway' from Grieg). I once had the long playing record of 'Summer Song', but alas no more, I should have kept it!

Davis Hughes born Burry Port, South Wales 1919 and died January 20th 1989. I have CD's and can assist on his life. He had the most beautiful Welsh tenor voice and was well known in Wales, BBC and HMV. I am David Adrian Hughes. Son. PS: He also sang with my godmother Noel Lawrenson, soprano from Lapworth, Solihull.
