Iwan Bala is passionate about the relationship between a country and the art that is created within it. When Bala talks about the aesthetics of art and the burgeoning confidence of a nation perhaps just beginning to realise its self worth, he's not talking about blind patriotic fervour, Welsh landscapes, dragons and daffs. Instead, he's promoting self-confidence. 'Art', says Bala, 'is a living embodiment of identity'.
