Gren Jones
Cartoonist on the 'Western Mail' and 'Echo'. He also was responsible for some of Max Boyce's LP covers.Connection: Attended Hengoed School in the forties, lives in Cardiff.

Gren is as Welsh as cawl. He is a Hengoed boy I'm sure and he lived in Caerphilly for years, currently in Cardiff. Ponty and pop forever.


I'm sure he retired but occasionally creates a cartoon for the Mail on special occasions, if you manage to contact him give him my regards.


For many years he produced a yearly calender. He was voted best provincial cartoonist in Britain by the CCGB four times 1983, 1985, 1986 and 1987 he was made an MBE for services to newspapers in 1989 and was given an honorary degree by the University of Glamorgan in 2004.
