Donny Osmond

Singer / Entertainer

Donald Clark Osmond was born in Ogden, Utah, on 9 December 1957, the seventh son of George and Olive Osmond. Part of his family ancestry has been traced to Merthyr Tydfil, a story told in a BBC Wales programme, and a plaque was unveiled in the town to mark the Osmond connection.

He first appeared on The Andy Williams Show at the age of six and joined his brothers in The Osmonds, whose hits included Crazy Horses. His solo career began in 1971, and in 1972 Puppy Love made him one of the biggest teen idols in the world, with a string of hits on both sides of the Atlantic.
