Gareth Jones

Journalist with the 'Western Mail', Lloyd George's Foreign Affairs Advisor. Murdered in his prime by Chinese bandits in Manchukuo in 1935.

Connection: Son of Major Edgar Jones, headmaster of Barry Grammar School.

He was the first foreign journalist to fly with Hitler in 1932 and was the first corespondent to be banned from the Soviet Union for reporting to the world the folly and resulting famine of collectivisation of soviet farms.
