'Peerless' Jim was the first ever boxer to win the 'Londsdale Belt' outright, having successfully defended his world featherweight title three times in a row.

When he died in 1925, it is claimed that 250,000 people lined the streets of Cardiff for his funeral. There is now a statue of 'Peerless' Jim at the top of Cardiff's Bute Street.
