Arwel Hughes, musician with a connection to Wales (Wrexham)

Arwel Hughes

Made conductor of BBC Welsh Orchestra in 1946 and later head of BC Music in Wales. He composed mostly choral music. Awarded OBE in 1969. He passed away in 1988.
Connection: Born in Wrexham in 1909. Studied at Royal Academy of Music under Ralph Vaughan Williams. .
