Samuel Griffith

He was premier of Queensland (1883-1888) and was knighted in 1886. He was also the first chief justice of the high court of Australia (1903-1919).

Connection: Sir Samuel walker Griffith (1845-1920) was born in Merthyr Tydfil, Glamorgan. He was eight years old when the family migrated to Queensland, Australia.
