Cruigwen Lewis

Played opposite Lawrence Olivier and Ralph Richardson as Desdemona in Othello in 1938 and in the first production of Jane Eyre on stage in London's West End.

Connection: Her maiden name was Cruigwen Lewis, becoming Cruigwen Cruickshank after marriage but she never used that name on stage.

She had three children and four grand children, she was an amazing granny and lived out her days in London. She told everyone about her proud welsh roots, especially her grandchildren!
