Bora da Broadway! - Multi-talented Melisa went from Cardiff to the bright lights of New York!

Showbiz certainly runs in the family, Melisa is the daughter of well known actress Sue Roderick.

Melisa said "After finishing a tour with the National Theatre of Wales a few years ago I moved to New York to pursue my career further. Having moved here I have worked on a variety of different projects including acting in a farce for the feminist theatre which is off Broadway The Looking Glass Theatre, a variety of short films including one that I just finished last week starring Joan Rivers and am now in rehearsal for Eugene O'Neil's fabulous One Act
Play 'Thirst'. "

Melisa has ambition with talent to back it up. In addition to acting by the end of 2007 she had already completed her second directing project off Broadway, a Clifford Odets play 'Till The Day I Die'. She said "It had a great response and was truly a challenge for me as a director. Directing Theatre is certainly a passion of mine and I hope to do more and more of it."

She is also a play-write so watch out for new projects, she said "My goal is to appear on stage or screen with both my mother (Sue Roderick)
and aunt (Francesca Annis) being directed by my step-father (Paul Turner) I
feel it would be a great combo. All three I admire and I would really love
to work with them."

Melisa is married to a New Yorker who licenses music for film and television and represents Sly Stone and War¹s catalogue for Avenue
Records. They live in Brooklyn, she said "with a great view of Manhattan if I turn my head to the right awkward angle :-)".

Sue Roderick was married to Quenton Annis brother of Francesca and Tony Annis. Sue met Quenton at HTV Wales where he was head of floor managers. Their daughter Melisa Mai Annis born St. Davids Hospital Cardiff. Francesca was with Ralph Fienes actor for twelve years. Sue Roderick still works in Wales. Wendy Annis ran gems from Penarth which crewed up band of brothers etc Wendy was Penarth lady and Quentons third wife. Tony Annis Quentons older brother, production manager in film and TV HTV Wales.

We are Melisa's in-laws and love her as our own daughter her kindness and talent is over-welming we are so happy to see peter and Melisa's love and respect for each other Melisa has a wonderful future ahead the Theatre lives with Melisa.

My brother in law that was Ralph Fiennes actor, commented that Melisa Annis is a fine actress. Quenton Annis. Proud father in Margarita Venezuela.
