Gareth Jones has hosted network TV shows in the UK continuously since 1985. He was one of the initial MTV Europe VJs; he presented Britain's coolest ever Saturday morning Zoo TV show, and many other hit shows since then. On radio, he has hosted two years of the BBC's only long running national technology magazine, and also his own Saturday morning pop show. He is currently a regular face on ITV in the afternoons, where he has presented twelve series of their flagship factual show.

With an enthusiastic and informed style, Gareth specializes in technology, science, engineering, language and the space programme.

Fired from a cannon, bungee jumped, piloted light aircraft, ridden snowboards, motor cycles, jet-skis, hovercraft, hydroplanes, gliders, karts and horses. He has endured basic astronaut training, suspended from an air-sea rescue helicopter, ridden a racing hydroplane, wing-walked aboard a 50’s biplane, sky dived from 11,000 feet..
...and survived to tell the tale.

With his keen ear for accent, Gareth has been asked to play a wide range of dramatic roles. Over the past ten years, he has starred as hundreds of characters within the historic reconstructions of The Big Bang, and How2.

Born in St. Asaph, Flintshire, North Wales, 05 July 1961 he is a settled family man with two children. Gareth quotes his hobbies, Interests & Likes as: Luggage, Aviation & Space Science, Automobile Technology, Formula 1, Star Trek, Yoga, Hill Walking,
Welsh Language and Culture, Slade, U2, Manic Street Preachers.

Educated through the medium of the Welsh language at Ysgol Gwenffrwd in Holywell and Ysgol Glan Clwyd in St. Asaph. A fluent Welsh speaker. Both parents Welsh (although father brought up in Yorkshire) Lived in London since 1981.

Gareth is ready to 'do his bit' for charity and always the man of action has come forward many times lending his support to charities such as The Make-a-Wish Foundation, The British Heart Foundation and the children's charity SPARKS.

He has also hosted segments for two of ITV's Telethons and live from Trinidad he presented the world-wide telecast "The First World Carnival" for Sport Aid. The charity organization of Gareth's choice is The Samaritans.


Music...
In 1976 Gareth was one of the founder members of two bands Backseat & The Units.

Released the EP "You're No Better" with "The Grids" in 1979,
as Gaz Top in 1986 recorded "Don't Get Me Wrong"
a tribute to America's Space programme .

Formed The Tuphelo Torpedoes in 1987, with Steve Allan Jones recorded the theme to 2 ITV shows "KellyVision" & "Video Jukebox" in 1989.

To this day Gareth regularly writes and records music at home as a hobby.
